15 games into the Sharks 2015 season and we're an average team in the weakest division. They're sitting at a measly 7-8. Sharks won the first 4 games and jumped out to a quick 8 points and first place. Then Logan Couture went down in a practice with a broken Fibula. Since then the Sharks have gone an abysmal 3-8. According to initial reports he was scheduled to be out 4-6 weeks and it was released last week he is on schedule and 2 weeks away from returning. I don't know how much this has affected the Sharks overall performance but I'm hoping it is the reason for the sudden change in play.
Joel Ward has shown up this year and is tied for the team lead in goals with Joe Pavelski for 8 goals. He's had some real beauties and he's showing he has some sick mitts and a knack for scoring.
Martin Jones started out incredible and set the Sharks franchise record for longest continuous shut out but since then has completely cooled off and actually been pulled from 2 of his last 3 starts. Of course as I'm typing this he's playing very well against Detroit.
The biggest news of the season has easily been the Marleau trade rumors. He currently has a no trade clause but he came out earlier this week and said he'd be willing to wave it if he was traded to LA, Anaheim or New York. All three of these teams are clearly Stanley Cup contenders. So mainly Marleau doesn't want to play for a bad team. I think he'll stay on the Sharks for a few more months and if he is dealt, it'll be at the trade deadline because if the Sharks are in the playoff hunt they might hold onto him. Especially since he's having a tremendous year so far and actually showing a little life in his old legs. Also, if he continues his current tear, they might get more than deserve for him. He even scored this beauty the other night against Florida

Joe Pavelski has also been a phenomenal choice for captaincy. He goes out every night is fricken battles. He is willing to lead the guys on the ice and show them what it takes to get the job done.
Still a long way to go in the year and with the return of all of our forwards such as Couture and Melker Karlsson who had a tremendous first year last year, we could make a run at the playoffs. But only time will tell.
P.S. I hate the LA Kings
