The blood is in the water!!! I can smell it! 4 more hours until the puck drops! The Seeenbino is at full force right now. A category 5 storm and it destroying me. But I do know one thing and that's the Seeenbino loves to give me a great regular season before it tears my heart out in late April. The Sharks open up tonight in LA and I fucking hate the Kings. But it's a new year and I couldn't be more excited.
Key Additions: Peter DeBoer: Might as well start at the top. Sharks have new head coach for the first time since 2008. Don't get me wrong Todd McLellan was good for us but unlike the Niners it was time for the parties to split ways. Peter DeBoer has some experience and even took the Devils to the Cup in 2011-2012 season when they lost to the red hot Kings. Martin Jones: Anti Niemi's time came to end but we got a great goaltender in Martin Jones. He's young smart and he's been under the tutelage of the best goaltender in hockey over the past few years. He's already been named the starter but if he falters we have a reliable backup in Alex Stalock. He could be good for many years to come. Possibly even a franchise goalie. Joel Ward: Slappy is going to love this guy. He's a grinder, a big dude and he's not afraid to get to the dirty areas in front of the net. Something we've been lacking since we traded away Ryane Clowe a few years ago. Paul Martin: Another big pickup. He a veteran defenseman from Pittsburgh and was Vlasic's line mate in the olympics for Team Canada. He has the mental capacity to lead from the back and is an extremely reliable PK man. Which we desperately needed after being in the bottom third of the league last year. He's excellent replacement for that bum Dan Boyle. |
In other big news my man Joe Pavelski was named captain the other day. First time since our melt down against the LA Queens in the playoffs that we've had one. I Love everything about giving Little Joe the "C". Kid has been with us all his career and worked his way from being the 205th overall pick in 2003 to being a consistent 30 goal scorer. He's driven, humble and a gamer.
I think we're going to have a good year I'm hypothesizing that we go:
44-31-7 and finish with 95 points. With the West being as tough as it is and the Pacific division being as brutal as it is. I feel like we will realistically finish in one of the Wild Card spots or possibly 3rd in the Pacific. But until then
