If you follow the NBA at all, you'll know that this is only slightly shocking but still a shock none the less. Make no mistake, the Cavs made this decision without consulting Lebron, but they sure as shit did this because of Lebron.
When the Cavs looked at their recent performance/losses against the Spurs/ Warriors, they noticed that those two teams have elite/experienced coaching. Blatt isn't a coach capable of beating those two teams, no matter how much the Cavs beat down the East, the top two teams in the West have their number. David Blatt was essentially doomed from the beginning because the Cavs hired him before Lebron made his decision to return to Cleveland. It's not like this guy is a bad coach, he's actually very smart and extremely accomplished. What the Cavs wanted to do is install Tyronn Lue as coach for the rest of the season to put a fire under the players asses. Now that they are considered a long shot to beat the Spurs/Warriors, the Cavs needed a shake-up and this was it. Simple as that. Let's just let Twitter/the basketball world doing the insulting..

LeBron James wasn't consulted about David Blatt's firing. Also, Michael Corleone wasn't told Fredo was taking the boat out on the lake.
