Well the regular season has all come to an end. I personally think that 82-games is way too many but that is likely never going to change. I know I've said I want to blog more about the NBA but I've dropped the ball a little when it comes to the NBA (pun-intended) and for that, I apologize. Now that the season is officially over, let's go through what happened last night first, because it was crazy-historic then we will see how Mijo fared in his season predictions, and conclude by making Playoffs/Finals predictions. Vamos!
Goodbye *Kobe*
Thank you, Michael Scott. Goodbye, Kobe. Arguably the best basketball player of my generation growing-up as a kid, Kobe's skill and killer mentality on the court was jaw-dropping to watch. I'm not going to go into how amazing he was or go through his stats/records but I'll for sure miss the days when Kobe was unbelievably dominate night-in and night-out. Thank you for the basketball memories, fresh-looking shoes (including my first ever ugly pair, pictured above) and enjoy raking in huge amounts of Chinese money during your retirement.

402 3's for Steph-God and the 73-Win Warriors
-Truly incredible. Curry is a basketball wizard, doing things we have never seen before. Some are calling his 402 3's record comparable to Ted Williams hit-streak record, very accurate statement, except that maybe Curry could very well break his own record next season. As for the Warriors 73 wins, just as awesome. Obviously the goal is to repeat as champions but beating that Bulls 72 wins record is just absurd and shows how good/dominate the Warriors are this year.

So how did El Mijo do with his NBA season-predictions? Let's see! Here's the links below to my predictions made at the beginning of the year, and I gotta say, I was mostly accurate except for a few minor hiccups here and there. Definitely should remain your go-to NBA source.

Western Conference
Final Results: 1. GSW 2. Spurs 3. OKC 4. Clippers 5.Portland 6. Mavs 7. Memphis 8. Houston
El Mijo's Predictions: 1. GSW 2. Spurs 3. Houston 4. OKC 5. Clippers 6. Memphis 7. Pelicans 8. Mavs
Where I was right: Obviously, I was dead-on balls accurate with my Warriors prediction and also came through with my Spurs pick. I got 7 out of 8 playoff teams correct, not too shabby.
Where I was wrong: Definitely didn't see the Pelicans disastrous season coming and thought Anthony Davis would make a larger leap this year into super-stardom. Also thought the Rockets would be a lot better with Harden coming off one of his best seasons, but they barely squeaked into the playoffs, Warriors will smack them around in the opening series as a punishment for under-achieving. My biggest mistake was thinking Portland would be one of the worst teams in the NBA. I should have never doubted the cold-blooded man from Oakland in Damien Lillard. Lesson learned.
Eastern Conference
Final Results: 1. Cavs 2. Raptors 3. Heat 4. ATL 5. Boston 6. Charlotte 7. Pacers 8. Pistons
El Mijo's Predictions: 1. Cavs 2. Heat 3. Pacers 4. Bulls 5. Bucks 6. ATL 7. Boston 8. Raptors
Where I was right: Cavs prediction was easily made and was definitely right about the Miami Heat being a top seed. 6 out of 8 teams is too shabby either.
Where I was wrong: I knew the Bulls had issues but I didn't think it would result in them missing the playoffs. I thought the young core of the Bucks with the addition of Monroe would be a lot better as well. Also didn't think the Raptors would dominate to the 2-seed but still had them getting in. The East runs through Lebron James so picking teams behind the Cavs is really just a toss-up sometimes.
Mijo's I Told You So's
Fired Coaches/GM: Derrick Fisher (Knicks), Randy Wittman (Wizards), Sam Hinkie (76ers), George Karl (Kings)
Dumpster Fire Teams: Knicks, Suns, Kings, Lakers, Nets, & 76ers
Curry dominating to another MVP: Can't wait for the official voting numbers to come in so we can shame Seeen's DeMarcus Cousins pick, again.

Playoff/Finals Predictions: Warriors will dominate and repeat as champions. That's all you need to know, everything else doesn't matter. The 96' Bulls won 72 games and went 15-3 en route to their NBA title, the Warriors won 73 games and will go 16-3 on their way to a title because they are one game better than that Bulls team. Very simple.
Can't wait for the playoffs to start this weekend, NBA updates and posts will ensue more frequently now. Shibby.
