Another head scratching move by another Bay Area GM bum. After an up and down season, the Sharks "mutually parted ways" *cough cough Jed*with their all time winningest coach in the teams short 24 year history. The Sharks announced they plan to hire Peter Deboer today after he was fired by the Devils this season. Many people expected them to sign Randy Carlyle because he is a proven youth developer and Doug Wilson has been pushing a youth revival in San Jose. Instead they signed a guy who has been known to struggle to make the playoffs except for his 1 Stanley Cup run in 2012 when the Devils lost to the Kings. Also he has been known to favor veterans over youth when coaching, which is again the opposite of everything Doug Wilson has been saying for the last 2 years.
So it looks like we're in for another interesting year for the Sharks. Can't wait.
