Happy Friday 49er fans and Honer Sports enthusiasts! This is your weekly update for the dumpster-fire currently going down in Santa Clara. Got some updates and recent news for you today so how about we jump right into the tepid pool of 49er-fan disgust, shall we?
The 2016-17 schedule for the @49ers pic.twitter.com/FZk0zpKfZx

The 2016 schedule is out and man, do the 49ers have a brutal one. We will be lucky to get one win in the first five games of the season. Sandwiched in the middle of the season are games against the Saints, Cardinals and Patriots, then we wrap it up on Xmas Eve on the road vs. LA then back home for the Seahawks. While the Niners don't have the most difficult projected strength of schedule, they are definitely Top-5. Also, nobody wants to watch the 49ers no mas. In 2013, we had 5 Prime-time games, in 2014 we had 4, and last year we had 3 (we would've had four, but the Niners were so bad, the game vs Cincinnati was bumped from PT). How many Prime-time games do we have this year? A whopping amount of 2 and one of them is a measly Thursday night game at AZ where the Cardinals are going to utterly destroy us. Un-watchable, zero-interest football is what the schedule makers thought of the 49ers this season. Good. Great. Grand. Wonderful!
I have a record prediction floating around my head but I'm not going to make that official call till after the draft. Not because I think our draft will help our record but because our draft might actually hurt our record. Get ready for Baalke to be in reach-city, drafting guys from Louisiana Tech and stashing "projects" with torn ACLs. Speaking of the draft..

The Rams traded an arm and a fat leg to move to the top spot in the draft. This means that Jared Goff and Carson Wentz will be gone by the time the Niners pick at 7. This is actually sort-of good news. Now the 49ers don't have to draft either one of those guys and can grab a top defensive player or offensive lineman. Will all the glaring holes on the 49er roster, it would've been idiotic to use our first round pick on a QB when we don't have an offensive line to protect him or haven't even resolved the Kaep situation yet.
Players the Niners should draft with their first pick: Joey Bosa, Myles Jack, Laremy Tunsil, Ronnie Stanley, Jack Conklin, Shaq Lawson
Player the 49ers will probably draft and reach on: DeForest Buckner ($20 bucks on it)
Then there's this little nugget..

“I already hear there’s problems in the building between Chip & Baalke” - @BaldyNFL

Look, who cares if this is true? It could be complete BS, could be a media member stirring the pot but what it really is, is a sign of things to come. The Niners have a constant seat in the rumor mill and this is the first rumor to come out about Baalke and Chip's sunshine and rainbows relationship. More rumors/leaks will for sure come now because the Niners either leak their own news to the media or let media do their own sniffing around for juicy news.
DUMPSTER FIRE...
DUMPSTER FIRE...
Here's to another top draft pick in 2017. Hopefully it's made on Leonard Fournette, but Baalke will probably still be around and pick up a wide receiver from Tulsa. Come to the Dark Side, 49er fans..
