Well, Drew Lock still has a ways to go..
The offense just walked down the field on the first drive until coming to a grinding halt with goal to go, which resulted in a field goal. After that, Drew Lock couldn't move the ball. The only stat you need to know: 1-14 on third downs, and that one conversion came late in the fourth with us already down 21-3. Lock finished 16-39 for 151 and 2 INTs. Most of those incompletions were ugly too, overthrowing receivers at least 15 yards. It didn't help that we completely abandoned the run game in the second half, so their D just sat back in coverage and continuously pressured Lock. Russ had 74 yards on the ground on 9 attempts, and we just stopped giving it to him for some reason.
The D didn't look too bad, especially since we held Florida to only 21 points and 337 total yards. Brothers had another 15 tackles, and Charles Harris continues to make a name for himself. The game turned straight ugly after the first quarter, with the teams combining for 18 punts. Corey Fatoney was again the player of the game for Mizzou with 47.8 yards per punt.
Up next is Georgia, in Athens. We always get really lucky in our matchup with Georgia because it seems like they are injured coming into the game. Nick Chubb is probably out for the season with a nasty knee injury, so we have a chance but the offense really needs to find an identity or we are going to get blown out of the water.
Also, interesting story developing today. Apparently Maty Mauk favorited a couple tweets from Florida fans giving Mizzou fans flack for Drew Lock. It'll be interesting to see if there are any repercussions from that, largely because he is already suspended. Mizzou football is just a mess... Good thing the Pack keep winning.
