We're back baby! It's winter term and intramurals have officially begun. This quarter I will be keeping you updated on all the happenings of my tremendously talented and under-rated Rec basketball team. We're so good we have a combined experience of 1 year of high school freshman basketball. But hey that doesn't stop us. Last year we went a dominant 0-4-1 and after kicking off our leading scorer and point guard for being a ball hog (hence the team name NO BALL HOGS) we were ready for the season to begin.

GAme  1   Recap

Our first game was on Sunday night at 6:30pm against "Why You Always Lyin "
The games consist of 2 20 minute halves with running clock until the last 2 minutes.

We quickly jumped out to a 7-0 lead thanks to 7 points by Connor Gibbs. They then battled back and it went back and forth all game. We were too bad to put it away when we'd get up by 4 or 5 so they stayed in it. It was a real barn burner of a game and we were up 34-32.....
Then with 1:30 left we got a huge board and called timeout to talk things over since we were up 2.  I asked Phil if he was good because he'd been in all half and I was currently the sub and he said he was good.  After inbounding the ball Phil had it at the top of the key and for some FUCKING reason he tried a bounce pass through the defenders legs and  it just hit him in the shins and he picked it up.

They came down and Bantly made a great play to steal the ball and as we brought it down court. Phil was wide open back door in the key and when he got the ball he missed a 2 ft shot to seal the game. They then came down and hit a jumper in Phil's face to tie the game at  34 with 45 seconds left.

We came down and Phil tried a Cross court pass to Gibb that went 5 feet over his head and out of bounds.
After a lay up attempt by them, and a foul on us they went to the line for 2 shots, the kid missed both and Bantly got the rebound. Luckily they got called for an over the back and Bantly hit 1 of 2 freethrows (we were in the bonus) and we took a 35-34 lead with 15 seconds left.

They inbounded the ball and threw it up to a guy who hit another basket in Phil's face to go up 36-35 with 10 seconds left. We quickly inbounded the ball and brought it down and got it to Gibbs, who they quickly double teamed him. He just turned and passed it to a wide open ........PHIL!

As the clock expired that mother fucker threw up the ugliest looking shot I've ever seen(made my shots look smooth) and of course he BANKED IN A GAME WINNING 3!!!!! Phil......the guy who did his best to throw the game in the final minute hit the game winner for our first win in 2 years.
