Wow, that was an utterly shitty way to end the 2016 season. 3 outs from boarding the plane back to Chicago with massive amounts of momentum and 5 relief pitchers couldn't get the job done in horrifyingly bad fashion. A lot of people ripping Bochy for not leaving in Moore but I'm not going to blame Bochy for that specifically. It's just so shocking but not shocking at the same time that the Giants could have possibly made the world series with their current lineup and rotation but it all came crashing down in one inning by the problem that had doomed them all season.
I know I went "All In" and made bold predictions before the season started and I know it can all be shoved directly back into my face now. Whatever. I deserve it so shove away.

So where to go from here? What do the Giants do? 3 easy steps..
Step 1: Clean House for the Bullpen- Fuck em all. I have no loyalty to a bullpen that ruined our entire progress at the All-Star break having the best record in the Bigs and shot us in the ass last night. Romo? Pssshh, thanks for the past, but you and your hangers can kick rocks. Lopez? You can shut up too and go walk match-up hitters elsewhere. Law? Thanks for the tease of being good then being hurt then not being good when we needed you most. Kontos? The fuck outta here. And Casilla? That little Queen! Spring Training should be a wide-open chance for any reliever to come in and replace someone from the 2016 bullpen. Go out and spend money on a closer. Chapman will likely get paid by the Cubs now so spending on Melancon from the Nats or stealing Jansen away from the Dodgers is just fine I guess. Or trade for a closer, which Bobby Evans kind-of sucks at as evidence from this past season but make an effort to get someone in who can blow half as many saves as Casilla did this past season because that would be a VAST improvement. Bottom-line, get relief pitchers who won't be setting another record for blown saves in a season. Pretty simple, yes? My overall thoughts on the bullpen, see Ari Gold.
2. Hire Barry Bonds as Hitting Coach- Quick question, who is the best and only hitter to flat out dominate AT&T Park? It's the MLB Home Run King, Barry Lamar Bonds. The man built that stadium. I don't care that he was on steroids, I really fuckin don't. Steroids didn't help Bonds become one of the best overall hitters in all of baseball, it helped him become the best home-run hitter. We need his knowledge and tutelage to show players how to hit at AT&T. How to be patient at the plate and take advantage of pitcher's mistakes. Bam Bam Meulens, time for you to go or be demoted. Blows my mind that every other team in baseball can hit home runs at AT&T but the Giants come in 28th for MLB team HRs again. Something is missing there, let the greatest home run hitter of all time help figure it out. The Giants fans would LOVE to sign off on this too. Barry will always be loved in San Francisco and he will always love us Giants fans. Stop being pussies Larry Baer, Brian Sabean and Bruce Bochy. Let bygones be bygones and get Bonds back in a Giants uniform, stat. And get him a god damn statue already for Christ's sake.
3. GET SOME POWER- 130 Team Home Runs?? Belt leading the team with 17?? Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. Hoping Cespedes opts-out and wants to come to SF is already a long-shot, Trumbo and Bautista aren't that amazing of free agents but at least they would give you 25+ home runs. If nothing is available via free agency, trade for a LF with some pop. Something, anything! We can't have another season of weaklings at the plate. We would've been easily defeated if not for Gillespie's random batting heroics so now it's back to the drawing board. Figure out a way to get some power in this lineup and get 30 more home runs in 2017.
So that's it, that's all I'll say for now. Been a looong season. Time to move on to NBA basketball and some Warrior dominance with a shiny new KD. So long for now Giants, see you in sunny AZ come March 2017. I'll bring the beers, I'll bring the beers..
